Northeast Nebraska Youth Sports Association is a 501(c)3 organization that will own the complex. 

Board members consist of the following:

This Sports Complex will consist of a 103,000 square foot indoor facility as well as a 250,000 square foot outdoor turf complex. The indoor facility will consist of 6 full sized basketball courts, convertible to 8 volleyball courts, a fitness center, an indoor turf area, an event center, as well as a restaurant.

NNYSA hopes to break ground on their Sports Complex in the Spring of 2025. 

NNYSA currently has signed a purchase agreement with Elkhorn Development who is the owner of the development around the sports complex. This development is located on the west side of Norfolk on Highway 275. The Complex will be on the Southwest corner of the development. The development is south of Faith Regional Hospital.

NNYSA will partner with Nebraska D-League to provide more opportunities for the youth of Norfolk and Northeast Nebraska. Nebraska D-League currently operates an AAU Basketball and Volleyball program that will practice out of this facility. In addition, Nebraska D-League plans to host both local and regional tournaments and leagues. The Event Center space will be multi-use and will be able to host 500 people for events, wedding receptions, conferences, etc.

NNYSA plans to have multiple ways to fund this project. Funds will come from donors & corporate sponsorships, lease agreements, as well as debt financing. The main funding mechanism for this project will be sought after by the use of LB39: The Sports Arena Facility Financing Assistance Act. 

LB 39 in a nutshell: When the Sports Complex is complete, there will be a 600 yard radius around the sports complex. Any NEW State Sales Tax dollars that are generated inside of that district can fund the complex. Specifically, 70% of the State Sales Tax dollars in the district can fund up to 100% of the total cost of the project. 

The goal for both NNYSA and Elkhorn Development is to bring in Sales Tax Generators into this development. This will help fund the cost of the project which will be near $30 Million.
